Kanye West- My Beautiful dark twisted fantasy
This album cover is unexpected considering this is a Rap/Hip Hop genre artist, this type of thought provoking album art is usually ones seen as the album covers of indie bands or artists which are not mainstream. However this type of album cover is not unexpected from the artist Kanye West considering his previous album art: All being of pictures that do not include him, but contain connotations of characters that could be considered as him.
as this particular album comes with a "Parent advisory warning" which is not part of the immediate album art but is a message affixed by the Recording Industry Association of America, we are subliminally told that the content of this music is going to be considered as explicit. This album art in its self can be considered as explicit as it shows a naked "Female" and "Male" on top of each other. The strange nature of this album cover can be closely linked to the title of the album "My Beautiful dark twisted fantasy" this strange picture is not one that you could interpret at first glance but you would have to consider the meaning of it as it is on a album cover. The bold red out lining is an interesting choice considering the connotations portrayed when the colour red is seen, this conveys: Danger, blood, war, power, love and passion.
Here are other covers of Kanye West to show his atypical choice of album art.

Specific Album art 3
Justin Bieber- Under the Mistletoe
This particular album being a Christmas album could be considered as interestingly atypical for a Christmas themed album because of the art used. Apart from the slight falling of snow on the case and the deep red colouring of writing, this album cover could be used as a usual album cover. Justin's stern look at the camera is seen as a form of seduction towards the buyer. The fans of this particular artist will be overjoyed to see his captivating stare into the eyes off the buyer. This album art also relied on the work of Photoshop with the "bejeweled" style writing of "Justin Bieber" in bold letters. This sparkly writing will again reach out to his fans which are 92% young girls. This writing also links together the stars name and the theme of Christmas. This writing is then reformed into the underlining of the phrase "Under the mistltoe" for continuity purposes.

Specific Album art 2
Britney Spears- Baby one more time
This album art conveys pure "girl next door, adolescence" at this time in Britney Spears' career she was not only a pop sensation but was idolized but young girls internationally meaning that an album cover that was in any way risque could potentially ruin her persona. The back of the cover being coloured pink is a very cliche yet effective way to lure in young girls from the age of 11 -16. This "baby pink" colouring is immediately eye catching to the target audience in which Britney Spears was focusing on. The contrasting colour of blue used for the writing "Britney Spears'" can be viewed as a signal of the appearance of boys in her music. Pink being a stereotypical female colour and blue being a stereotypical male colour would link to the matter of boys and relationships which is what Britney Spears' early music was heavily based upon.

Specific Album Art Analysis 1
Rihanna: Rated R
Rihannas ever changing appearance meant that her Rated R album cover, highlighted her appearnce of that time which was dark siniste. The cover has been edited in grayscale meaning that the album cover possess some dark qualites which are not related to happiness nor fun. When we look at this cover we automatically feel that the music within the cover will be very meaningfull and dark with elemenst of sadness. Rihannas dull yet distinct facial impression makes us worry for the singer considering her blrak expression. The simple "R" seen on the top right corner of the cover makes the cover seen even less fussy towards the art and mre the music within the art because of the lack of detail put into making the name of the album cover be seen.
